Time

Rachael is an IT professional who is a single mom, living with her daughter. She stays close by office for easy commute but unfortunately outside the city.

It was a pleasant saturday morning 5.30 am. Looks like the sun was very happy to start with his daily routine, birds chirping was euphonious. Rachael woke up bit early today, she walked towards the window and thought ‘Why couldn’t I enjoy such a pleasant morning, that too on a weekend!!!’.

She visited her dad’s place by 6pm and started chitchatting with her dad on random topic! About her parent, her mom is a housewife and dad is almost becoming a patient as he has prolonging knee pain on both legs for years. She had a younger brother who was married to a pretty girl, he was blessed with 2 kids.

Between dad and daughter's conversation, her brother pitched in and said ‘I am taking mom to hospital as she has pain on her chest.’ Rachael's dad asked ‘Ok, do you want me to come or would you be able to manage?’ Rachael didn’t ask anything as she had a small fight with her mom last week yet felt disturbed slightly and comforted herself as mom use to visit hospital for one or the other reason at least 15 days once. Her brother told he can manage and went to hospital with mom.

It was 8pm, Rachael got a phone call from brother, ‘Sister, could you please come to hospital as mom has been advised to get admitted in hospital.’ Rachael was shocked & she rushed to hospital where she consulted with the doctors on her mom’s health, got a positive response from hospital but they kept her mom in intensive care for a day for observation with an assurance that she will be moved to the normal room next day.

Rachael started back home around 10 pm after spending some time in hospital, when she reached home she felt too disturbed with the thoughts about her mom, she made up her mind to apologize to her mom if there is any mistake from her end on the disagreement on the very next day.

Unfortunately Rachael got a call around 12 am from her brother, she picked the call and answered ‘Hello, what happened? You are calling me now!!! Meanwhile she could sense something is wrong in the other end.  Her heart almost stopped when she heard his voice, ‘(sobbing) mom is no more, doctor is saying something (crying) you please come!!!’. She ran to hospital hoping this isn’t true and some miracle would happen but the fucking truth was she has lost her mom.

Time is precious, we might not know what would happen the next minute or day! so please don't save the anger in your small sweet heart which would make you stay away from your loved ones.
